LendingClub
Well, LendingClub is the new guy on the block for peer to peer lending. I went over and tried to apply for a loan there, but got the following message:
We’re sorry, but based on your credit score, loan amount, Debt-to-Income (DTI) ratio, and/or your state’s maximum borrowing rate, we are unable to list your loan request at this time.
In an effort to protect the community, we have implemented a very stringent credit policy. This policy, in combination with low maximum rates in some states (see State Licenses & Limits), requires us to turn down loan listings of otherwise fine borrowers. We are looking into ways to help accommodate more borrowers, so check back soon.
Ouch. It looks like a combination of Virginia’s interest rate limits and my credit score have restricted me from LendingClub also.

That’s too bad about Lending Club. At least they don’t wait until the end of the process (like Prosper) to let you know about the state caps, etc.
GlobeFunder is supposed to be opening on October 2nd. Maybe that’s worth a shot.
