Prosper Loan – 14 Percent Funded – 11 hours to go

Bid on my listing at Prosper, people-to-people lending

Some good action on the Prosper loan. Several people have offered up some cash to help fund the loan for my air conditioner and have pushed the loan to about 14 percent funded with only eleven hours to go.

Okay – for those big lenders at Prosper – let me remind you about the Double Interest – the first 11% up front at Prosper offer. You have about 11 hours to get in and lock in an extra 11% up front on top of a solid 11% loan at Prosper.

- Every lender who bids at least $200 on the above loan will receive 11% of their bid after the loan has been funded
- Payment via PayPal only
- Any lender that bids at least $200 will contact me via the messaging system on Prosper to provide me with PayPal payment information
- After the loan has been funded, any lender that has bid at least $200 will receive 11% of their bid up front via PayPal

I am curious – how often are Prosper loans funded in the last several hours? Do many loan go almost the full 10 days waiting for funders, only to be fully funded at the last minute? Well, I guess we will see in the early hours of Saturday morning – an obvious tactical error on my part – I think I need to be a bit more thoughtful in when the end of the loan bidding is.

The next question is – if this loan is not funded, then do I immediately turn around and attempt another offering? Or do I wait a while and come back for a try a month or so from now?

Ideas?

Here's a look at bidding from the lender side. One thing I've noticed is that many lenders (including me) wait until a loan is funded or almost funded before bidding. That's because your money is tied up in the loan until the loan is complete. If you bid on the first day of a 10 day loan that does not fund then your money has been tied up for all that time not earning interest.
