Running a seminar or live event
James Brausch is always looking for ways to start collaborative discussions via his blog. This week he is looking for questions from the peanut gallery about how to run a successful seminar or live event. The goals for running a seminar or live event are varied, so for the context of this question I want to assume the goal of a seminar is to directly profit from an admission fee from the participants. In this context, is it better to strictly limit the number of participants and charge a large fee OR appeal to a larger crowd with a lower cost of entry? In more succinct terms – is it better to charge $500 for 10 people or $50 for 100 people?
