I got my first issue of GOOD magazine a while back, but forgot to mention it. I had blogged about it several months ago. Very nicely done – excellent writing – but, just a tad bit “lefty” for most of my tastes. Still, a fantastic organization helping to create discussions that will hopefully motivate people [...]

Here is a strategic charity that can have a great deal of impact across the world – Ashoka is definitely in the “teach a man to fish” realm of charities. Ashoka seeks out Social Entrepreneurs and helps them to help their communities by giving them a three year grant to dedicate their time and efforts [...]

Another organization that I have had some experience with is AMVETS. AMVETS has been around for more than 60 years reaching out to American Veterans. They work from the strategic – with legislative efforts to benefit veterans – to the tactical – veteran and community services.
“Preserving Freedom – Supporting Veterans and Active Military – Providing [...]

Building better lives for America’s disabled veterans
The Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust tries to pick up where government programs leave off. The way they work is by making grants to non-profit and charitable organizations that help to support disabled veterans and their dependents. In modern warfare more service members are surviving [...]
