Really? Global Warming? I know I will regret this in the future, but this is the mildest Spring weather that I can remember in decades.

On October 15th - Blog Action Day, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind. In its inaugural year, Blog Action Day will be co-ordinating bloggers to tackle the issue of the environment.
Okay, don’t get me started - I will wait until 15 October [...]

Hmmmm… So, instead of “send a man to the moon” in 10 years - it is reduce gasoline consumption by 20% in ten years. Really? Is that going to really have an impact? Sounds kind of lame to me.

Dang it! Looks like oil might close above $54 after a couple of weeks of moving towards - breaking briefly - but not closing below $50 a barrel. Of course the big story is going to be ethanol with the President’s State of the Union speech tonight. Will he announce more unfunded [...]

Through the wonders of Netflix, I finally took the time and sat down to watch An Inconvenient Truth - staring Al Gore. Golly, and what a star. I though the movie was about global climate change - but it ended up being a movie about Al Gore’s ill-fated run for the presidency. I also learned [...]

From Digg:
“The One Ton CO2 Project just released a line of t-shirts designed to raise awareness about global warming and support regional carbon offset efforts. Each shirt offsets one ton of CO2 emissions, raising awareness, fighting global warming.”
Okay, so a $31 tee shirt to help offset a ton of co2 that you can offset [...]

Technorati is showing 189 blogs linking to deepmarket, so we are approaching 200 tons of CO2 offset through our partnership with CarbonFund.org. Not too bad - 200 tons is equal to neutralizing the carbon output of 8 average US citizens (who average about 24 tons of carbon output a year) for 2006. If you have [...]

Henry Paulson has been nominated to replace Secretary Snow at the Treasury Department - perhaps an interesting turn of events for the trading of carbon credits in the US. Mr. Paulson has been the CEO of Goldman Sachs for about eight years - he understands how markets work. He is also - oddly enough - [...]

I am a simple guy and love to think about simple solutions - no matter how practical they may be. That is the nature of the simple guy. So, when I first heard of CO2 Sequestering, it sounded like a simple and obvious concept. Well, things are never simple and obvious, so [...]

We have the program working with Carbonfund.org to help offset carbon emissions, but the Carbonfund.org team pointed me to another program that is substantially more exciting. This program will offset enough carbon to make the average US citizen “carbon neutral” for a year.
Now, this is an interesting story - where the interests of DeepMarket [...]

Travel in the modern world is going to have an impact on the environment, so I have a big problem with the concept of “Green Travel.” Shouldn’t it be - “If you are Green, then don’t Travel”? I would characterize this as the “Penny wise, pound foolish” aspect of being Green. It seems to be [...]

Looks like Treehugger picked up on our efforts (working with Carbonfund.org) to get people excited about offsetting carbon emissions with a nice article “Blog Trades Carbon Offsets for Links“. For anyone visiting from Treehugger, just wanted to let you know that you can check the link count over at Technorati. Hmmm… Looks [...]

Just a brief note to point everyone to a press release announcing Carbonfund.org and DeepMarket working together. Here is an excerpt from the release:
According to the program, Deepmarket.com, which is already a supporter of Carbonfund.org and has offset its carbon footprint, will offset one ton of carbon dioxide emissions with Carbonfund.org for every blog [...]
