Zacks, a leading independent market monitor, is now providing its private list of “Strong Buy” stock picks for a 30-day free trial. Since 1988, these picks have tripled the S&P 500, averaging a yearly gain of over 27%.

You may also view the Zacks Rank for 4,400 stocks, find today’s hottest industries, and much more. Plus, Zacks 7 Best Stocks for the Next 30 Days may be downloaded free.

Since 1978, Zacks Investment Research has helped make a difference in the lives of individual investors. Although their business has greatly expanded over the years to include many employees and offices throughout the world, they have held true to the core philosophy of the founder, Len Zacks.

As a Ph.D in mathematics from M.I.T., Len discovered that earnings estimate revisions are the most powerful force impacting stock prices. That power is harnessed in the Zacks Rank stock picking system. Since 1988 the Zacks #1 Rank Strong Buy stocks have averaged gains of +27% per year. That beats the average S&P 500 gain of only +9% during the same time period by THREE times!

The best way for investors to tap into the Zacks Rank is through the Zacks Premium subscription service. They allow customers to take a 30 day free trial to explore all the benefits of Zacks Premium.

Investors use Zacks Premium to buy the best stocks, sell the worst, target the hottest sectors and be alerted to fast-breaking buy and sell signals.

Timothy Sykes turned $12,000 into $2 million in four years, lost 1/3 of it, starred in the hit TV show Wall Street Warriors and is now committed to teaching everyone, finance freaks and normal people alike, to profit from the world’s trashiest stocks, penny stocks through his publishing company BullShip Press, LLC (seriously).

This is part of the stock market that is filled with hype, manipulation and corruption and once you learn how to identify all the players and the games they play, which surprisingly isn’t very difficult, you can make some serious money with little risk. The key is learning discipline and not getting too cocky from all the money you make! (seriously) This ain’t no get-rich-scheme, it’s the first brutally honest blog, book (An American Hedge Fund), instructional DVD (PennyStocking) and subscription service (TIM ALERTS) focused on teaching the risks AND rewards of stock trading, broken down to the basics and integrated with a blog so our customers can interact and ask any questions whatsoever.

Totally open. No more financial BS. No more sketchy schemes. No more overpriced crap.

This is stock trading, specifically penny stock trading (ideal for people with just a few thousand dollars) going mainstream. No joke, Timothy has learned from the boiler rooms themselves to give out big commissions to salespeople – except that these products are quality, not fraudulent! Think of the BullShip Press brand as a financial Girls Gone Wild, instead of profiting from young trashy girls, investors, traders, non-finance people and affiliates alike will profit from low priced trashy stocks! Read some blog posts (any blog posts) to see that this is all real and it’s gonna get everyone loving this greatly unloved and misunderstood financial sector.

The markets are crazy insane again today. They don’t have the same doom and gloom feeling as Monday’s toppling, but it is a negative market – Dow is down about 350 five minutes before the closing bell.

The future of the economy in the US, as well as the rest of the world, is dependent on the outcome of the vote on the economic rescue plan – let’s even call it a stabilization bill. I have been using newsflashr to track the latest stories related to the markets and the legislative action. I especially like the stock market blog feeds and the unique presentation of that stories:

Inner8 launched a semi-closed beta last week. Luckily, I found an early access invite code for Inner8 and signed up.

Only Inner8 brings together high-performing investors and provides them with advanced analytic tools to deliver the next generation of investment advice.

The social stock picking field is interesting from one perspective, but I have never really gotten into it on a regular basis. The concept is – individual investors are independent gauges and guessers of the markets and stocks. Bring these masses together and leverage the wisdom of crowds to better determine good places to invest your monies. Oddly enough, this is what the Stock Market does.

Okay, that is a broad brush of the social aspect of Inner8 – let’s get a little specific. I am still not clear on the name – Inner8 – but I think that is the name of the most trusted advisers that you follow in the stock picking community – your inner circle of stock pickers. Is it limited to eight? I don’t see anything that says one way or the other.

All the stuff – charts, data, social connectivity – feels great. Everything has the modern Web 2.0 feel – required for social stock picking I think. I am still playing with it, but I don’t see anything that is a major difference. Yes, there are improvements on basic concepts, but nothing earth shattering. However, that is what is so great about a free market – new products get developed and either outlive their competition, are gobbled up by their competition or disappear – perhaps leaving their competition with some neat new ideas.

Inner8 is free – as they say: “Zip. Zero. Nada. Your membership is absolutely free.” I don’t have any invites to hand out to people, but if I get any I will be sure to let everyone know. You can apply for a beta membership, but I don’t know how long it will take before they get back to you.

Google (symbol GOOG) will be announcing earnings today after the closing bell. The economy is clearly in a slowdown, but how will it affect Google’s earnings? Remember, they are an advertising company and in a downturn, many businesses begin to pull back their spending on advertising. Not to say this is what a business “should” do – advertising is an investment and can make or break a product. Will Google’s numbers be a reflection of the economy as it is? Or could we be surprised by Google and see an upturn in profits, which might preface a nearer-term rise in economic growth?

Although the influence of the individual investor has grown a great deal in the past several decades, the institutional trader still rules the markets and controls the ultimate destiny for many of the exchange traded stocks. How useful would it be to know which stocks a mutual fund manager is moving money into or reducing their position? Well, this information has been available for years, via SEC filings by institutions and mutual funds. However, these filing are complex and not conducive to light reading and analysis. This is where TheBuyList.com comes in with advanced text extraction techniques that can sift through the thousands of public filings and wrest the business intelligence from unstructured data and convert it into a data format that can be searched.

Interested in a which industries the fund managers are buying? Explore stocks in industries like Software, Hardware, Media, Telecom, Healthcare, Consumer Services, Business Services, Financial Services, Consumer Goods, Industrial Materials, Energy, or Utilities. When you find a particular industry that looks hot, then drill in deeper to the individual stocks and find which ones have an influx of new cash. Or identify the shares that are being ignored or even dispensed with by the managers.

Keep an eye on The Buy List Blog for additional insight into the analytics going on behind the scenes and tips on how to use the intelligence gathered by The Buy List tools. If you are investing or speculating, then it is prudent to have superior knowledge about the environment you are operating in. Your understanding of the trends and currents in the markets can be furthered by the analysis available at TheBuyList.com.

Stock Cloud is an interesting data mining or data visualization experiment – they describe it as a

Wikinancial allows you to backtest stock picking and trading strategies.

iMiners tracks press releases – as does Stock Cloud – but it provides a search interface and then breaks the press releases into categories.

Wall Street Pop is another Digg-esque stock market site. I am afraid that the stock market is much too diverse to analyze or to get alerts from an interface like Digg’s interface. It is an obvious application of the Digg paradigm to the financial markets, but I don’t think it works.

Because their stock symbol is BOO – what could be more appropriate? How about:

WTCH is the symbol for Wastech, Inc., a penny stock that looks very scary.

Can Google Inc. (GOOG) make up for the incredible blunder (or brilliant business move) of buying YouTube? We will see once their earnings are announced this afternoon. Certainly the stock price is anticipating great news, as GOOG is up over nine bucks at the close – after hours trading should be fast and furious as people comb through the numbers. It seems that the Dow is closing above the 12K mark for the first time ever also. Now that is out of the way – perhaps this artificial concern of a 12K barrier will be out of the news. We can also celebrate the 19th anniversary of the October 19th, 1987 “crash” when the markets saw their greatest percentage fall in one day.

Google – 3rd quarter -> $2.62 vs $2.42 expected and revenue saw an increase of 13%

GOOG is up in the $440-$450 range in after hours trading.

Are we ever going to see Dow 12,000?
This afternoon, after the markets close, four big tech companies will be reporting third quarter earnings. Intel Corporation (INTC) looks like it isn’t going to do its part in helping to crack Dow 12K – there seems to be a good deal of concern about the earnings announcement today. International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), on the other hand is pushing forward in anticipation of pleasing results. Then there is Motorola, Inc. (MOT) which will further impact the tech trend – a trend that is relatively negative today. Finally, Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) will be giving a less intensive perspective of the tech market, as they are more of an entertainment and advertising company. I am not sure if Yahoo’s numbers will give any insight into Google Inc. (GOOG) earnings to be announced this Thursday, but it may be prudent to take notice.
