It is difficult to truly appreciate being deployed to war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, especially as the toll being exacted on the troops by our enemies has increased over the past several months. Being away from home is one thing - being away from home with the constant possibility of encountering dangerous situation is unimaginable for most Americans. Helping to keep the spirits of the troops high and optimistic can be helped by purchasing calling cards that will be distributed to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed in combat zones. There seems to be a couple of organizations out there that specialize in this type of program, but I found that AAFES offers a way to purchase prepaid calling cards that are then distributed to service members that can use them. So, help the troops be able to keep in touch with home!
