Military Order of the Purple Heart
I got rid of my favorite car last year - a 1990 Dodge Omni - a totally sweet ride. It really did not fit my middle age years, so I called up the Purple Heart Car Donation Program and they took care of everything - from pickup, to auction, to a tax receipt. The program is run by the Military Order of the Purple Heart - an organization I had been familiar with for many years. In my community, I get a call every 3-4 months asking if I have anything worth donating to the Purple Heart. It is amazing how much stuff I accumulate that is not “junk”, but has value - just not to me any longer. Like an extra satellite dish or a slightly used 1978 TV (still works great!). They come by the house and pick it up. So, when it came time to give up the Omni, Purple Heart was the obvious choice.
“The mission of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is to foster an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among Combat Wounded Veterans, promote patriotism; support necessary legislative initiatives; and most importantly, provide service to all veterans and their families.”
Every time I have dealt with this organization, I have dealt with good people. Remember, this is another organization that benefits the people fighting the good fight at this very moment!
