Global! Cooling! Emergency!
Image via Wikipedia Tricky old Mother Nature seems to have reminded humans that nothing is certain and trends are sometimes head fakes. Coldest Summer Ever in Anchorage:
Right now the so-called summer of ’08 is on pace to produce the fewest days ever recorded in which the temperature in Anchorage managed to reach 65 degrees.
That unhappy record was set in 1970, when we only made it to the 65-degree mark, which many Alaskans consider a nice temperature, 16 days out of 365.
Summer ain’t over yet, but it will be interesting to see if this “mini-trend” of regional cooling continues in Alaska.
As an amateur speculator, you can voice your unlearned opinion on what will eventually happen to the record at Hubdub:
Wow – a blog post about Alaska and no mention of Sarah Palin.
