Cambrian House Ideas - Last of the Summer
Well, here we are at the last Cambrian House IdeaWarz Tournament of Champions of the summer. Only about 50 ideas in this round, but I saw some interesting ones - maybe creativity is making a comeback:
RoadRunner Driveway oil mat - I guess I figured these existed already, but maybe not. A mat to put under your car to catch and wick away oil and other leaks so as to not damage the pavement. A good non-computer based idea.
Universal Sanitary Automatic Glove Machine - stick your hand in a machine and your hand is magically covered in a glove like material, as opposed to putting on and pulling off gloves. I can see this being useful in high traffic areas like food prep.
weather4all - weather predictions suited to a particular outdoor activity. Activities like surfing have different “good weather” indicators than other activities - like mowing the lawn.
Parent Match - New to town? Find similar families that share your style of parenting or have kids the same age. A unique twist on the Match.com concept.
Stocks at a Glance - a wiki for stock information. Ummmm… How about Value Wiki?
automatic School Bus Warning System - this is a good one! GPS on the school bus tracks its location and alerts students and parents with an estimate of when the bus will arrive at their bus stop.
Digital Painting - Homeowners Nail It Before Painting - Paint your house virtually to see how it will look.
Mesh - This is an actual business - Mesh - A social community for creative professionals. More niche than LinkedIn, but in the same ballpark. I like it because they are doing it rather than just theorizing about it.
Recipe Visualizer - automatically annotated pictograms - Recipes using pictures rather than words - a unique idea
Wow - that is a lot of decent ideas! For my tastes, this round has about 20% viable and cool ideas. Cambrian House really does have ups and downs.
