Ideas from Cambrian House - first week of August 2007
I am browsing the weekly idea submissions over at Cambrian House. I hate to sound negative, but the quality of the ideas seem to be declining over time. The first ten I encountered I had to give 1 star (the lowest score). I am not saying it is easy to come up with great ideas, I am just saying Cambrian House may have peaked in innovation. Well, on that note - here are the ideas I liked best this week:
The world’s best email - the author wants a high quality email service with exceptional SPAM detection. Probably an excellent project for the crowdsourcing paradigm
Solar energy over the clouds - this author talks about solar cells + planes = energy. I am not sure about those specifics, but I like the idea with blimps anchored to the ground - thus allowing a way to get the electricity back to the earth.
Land line to mobile phone forwarding - this is a good idea. I still don’t own a cell phone (yes, I know - how 14th century), but this is one feature that would help move me to this century.
I am still slogging through all of the ideas for this week - most are the same old themes. One guy constantly posts about new online games “this is the first game for a 2 foot battle ax - all other games have 1 foot axes - this is a major change in online gaming”. Holy Yawn!
