Kill the Termites
Termites only ever infest old houses and barns, right? Wrong. Termites can infest any home that has any sort of wood used in construction, which applies to a majority of homes, and almost ALL homes in the United States. But if you do find that your house has termites, don’t panic. Although termites are extremely serious, they are often treated in a fairly simple manner. All the information on treating them is in the Termite Guide. Starting with basic information about termites, it goes through and identifies whether you have termites, if so, which ones, and how to best take care of them. Often you have to call an exterminator to control the pests, but there are other remedies. One of the best is a Borate Treatment, which is generally done while the house is under construction. Other ways include using poisonous termite bait stations and fumigation. But these are still better than having your house eaten until it collapses.
