Big, bright and tall - the sunflower is one of those flowers that most anyone can identify and everyone can enjoy. For a while, I was traveling to Kansas every week for a long term project. I would fly into Kansas City and then drive out to Topeka, Kansas. That is a long drive, but the scenery is really nice. One of the first things that I noticed during my initial trips to Kansas were the huge fields of sunflowers. I had no idea the sunflower was so tall, but the large expanse of sunflowers looked like fields of corn - with the obvious exception of the large golden flowers on top.

I had never honestly thought about sunflowers as flowers delivered for special occasions until I saw an arrangement of sunflowers - then it made sense. Remember, sunflowers are big flowers - so, they are delivered in bud form and bloom after delivery creating a big golden arrangement. Don’t ignore the sunflower the next time you are thinking of sending flowers - I think they beat most other flowers when it comes to adding life to a room.
