  • Does it occur to the web host to filter out which links are appropriate and which aren't, for a mega list? I mean, really. Why would you care about the Dear Santa letter writing post I made that I specifically said in both the headline and the post is for children who live in only two zip codes?
  • Not a problem - I can remove those links. I figured most blogs would appreciate the links.
  • Monroe on a Budget has always been a frugal blog with a local spin to southeast Michigan.

I'm ranked nationally because other people are interested in a Michigan perspective on how to get through the recession. However, I do include a lot of public service announcements that are intended only for my local readers. That's why I tag some of my posts "this is for my readers in ... "

My PSAs are linked over on other local sites and show up in the local print media. I don't need, or want, someone from five states away trying to get information on a service or program they will not qualify for. That has happened when linkage doesn't pay attention to who the post was meant for.

Most national blogs and sites who follow me pick out the posts that are of general or national interest. I'm OK with selective linking for items that have a broad appeal. But leave the local PSAs to my local readers.
