Airsoft Brands: Good vs. Bad

Airsoft is a relatively recent sport, coming about only in the past ten years or so. The most important part of this sport is your gun. If you don’t have one, you can’t play. Similarly, if you have a cheaply made one, you may as well not play. Many new gun companies have come about in the past few years, making either really nice (and expensive) guns, and others making cheap, poorly made, mainly plastic guns. These cheaper guns are okay for starters, but even then are not recommended. The brand most associated with these is CYMA. The first gun I purchased was a CYMA, as was my friend’s. Withing just a few months of less than regular use, my G36C’s clip partially exploded, and his MP5’s gearbox completely broke. I then purchased a BOYI M4 carbine, and so far haven’t bee disappointed.  A BOYI gun is roughly mid-range, nice, but not quite on par with brands like Classic Army and Tokyo Marui, which are often full metal, and look nearly identical to the real thing. The only problem with these is that they can run into the range of $200-$1500. I don’t know about you, but that’s a bit much for a toy gun.
