EntreCard – AdSense and Whatnot
I mentioned that my AdSense earnings shot up after I removed the EnterCard widget, but I am getting naysayers – Ferox ranted about my AdSense theory:
And how do you suppose that happens then? You take of a widget and now more visitors decide that clicking your ads is a good idea? Yeah, I’d say coincidence. My adsense earnings increased with Entrecard because of more visitors. Not by much, but my focus isn’t on making money- it’s about earning comments.
Did I say that “more visitors decided” to click my AdSense ads? Nope. In fact, I had far FEWER clicks, but my revenue went up. I have a feeling that AdSense was tracking the quality of my traffic and increased the value of a click once the stream of EntreCard traffic went to zero. Could it be a coincidence? I am thinking not.
And Ferox’s final comment is very important. I was looking for a mechanism to help me make money and EntreCard is NOT the right place for that. Now that I understand that, I am moving on.
