I discovered InstantBull many years ago and was lucky enough to be included in a list of top stock market blogs. InstantBull is a very focused stock market aggregator with the goal of trying to help investors or traders navigate through 100s of stories that could affect share prices. DeepMarket got a lot of traffic from InstantBull, as it had a pretty good following.

Well, Gal Arav – who originally developed InstantBull – has put together the next generation of new aggregator sites – newsflashr. newsflashr is more focused on the general news, but still has a seperate section for business news sites and business blogs. Gal says he wants to develop ways for people to monitor huge volumes of data in real-time. His solution is to help get readers to the information they need by:

- Time sorted view of time sorted headlines (per category)
- Topics view of popular keywords making news as they continuously update all day long (per category)
- Feeds view of popular news sources (per category)
- Tracking search keywords across all the leading news search engines

Not just sucking in and regurgitating news feed in a newly formatted web site like most aggregators do, newsflashr is doing analysis across the news feeds to help sort out general trends and expose that data to users in real-time. newsflashr continues to evolve – the most recent addition to the service is a new real-time search engine:

Quickly track all the latest news updates on any subject. When you enter a search term, results are polled from a wide variety of the top News search engines (such as Google News, Digg, Bloglines, Twitter) and all the results are displayed on a single page. Our free new service is in effect a search engine of search engines for real-time news tracking. The new all-in-one search feature extends our existing news portal service which constantly monitors 100s of the top news sources — at top right, choose “time sorted view”, “feeds view” or “topics view”.

I think newsflashr has already exceeded the success of InstantBull and the momentum is certainly on Gal’s side. I am looking forward to seeing how this new information engine continues to evolve.
