I was just clicking around the stock correlations to see if there was anything interesting and happened upon a funny (99% probability of being meaningless) 30 day correlation. It seems over the past 30 trading days Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) is stongly correlated with Columbia Sportswear Company (COLM). Is that because Steve Jobs buys Columbia black tee-shirts? As goes Apple, so goes Columbia? Heck no! Correlation does not imply causation.
