Finally got data for stocks from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and American Stock Exchange (AMEX) integrated into DeepMarket. Up to this point we only had access to stocks from the NASDAQ exchange. We get our data via an XML feed from Quotemedia. It is end of day data and we capture the 8000 some odd quotes in a MySQL database, which only takes about a minute - nice and quick. Now when you do a search for a stock, it is much more probably that you will find it. From the log files I noticed an increase in searches for NYSE listed stocks, so it was time to get everything working.

Also, the correlations across all 8000 stocks have been re-run (most likely re-run every week or so). Now you can take a gander at stocks correlated with IBM and ponder the reasons its price has tracked with the biotechnology stock Genetech. Supercomputing and biotechnology - who would have thunk? There are plenty more interesting correlations in the data, so don’t be shy and do some exploring.
