Anymails – Email Visualization
Carolin Horn has come up with a fun email visualization tool called Anymails. I found the description of her prototype – developed with Flash and Processing – while exploring all the other innovative things people are doing with the Processing.org libs. Each of the objects – or Anymail – represents an email and similar emails are categorized by “species”. How the Anymails act in the inbox environment is dependent on the characteristics of the email. For instance, a new email moves around the environment quickly and an old email that has been read begins to fade. There isn’t a live demo, but the source code can be downloaded. The coding was done by Florian Jenett – another lover of Processing.org apparently.
